Policy & Procedure Implementation

    - This is to support members in understanding all Staff's responsibilities

    - The IBEW Constitution outlines 

                - Article XVI, Page 51 Officers of Local Unions 

                - Article XVII, Page 56 Duties of Local Union Officers 

                - These Articles will be broken down into Manageable items and bits of Information to Point Members in the direction of the person(s), they may be able to reach out to help quickly identify who will be able to support them promptly. 

     - The Support Staff Team will also have mechanisms in place to ensure they have direction in supporting members, and the members will easily understand who will be following up with them to provide any support that the member needs.

    The Policies and Procedures will better help all staff members be part of one IBEW team in supporting a member on all levels.

Of course, the Policies and procedures will be formulated around Lessons Learned from members and staff in devising adaptable strategies that will continue to grow and develop on an as-needed basis. Having a good foundation that is adaptable is key to the success of supporting members successfully while ensuring the IBEW team incorporates a healthy balance in their work life.

Member Education 

    - Start with engagement (Listen to all members and what they would like their Union to provide) 

    - Member-to-Member Education - Mentor program

                        - Mentor Training 

                        - Mentee Training  

    - Best Trade Practice (Trade Application) training, at the Union Hall and Onsite 

                        - multilevel training that is for all levels of Electrical workers

    - Apprentice Training, at the Union Hall through the JAC - Joint Apprenticeship Council, with the continued training at the Electrical Alliance, as this training is key to providing the basics to dispatch members and to support present Skilled Trade Basic Competencies.

                        - JAC will provide Skills gap training for all apprentices and work on areas where apprentices may want to feel more confident in their abilities
