1. Having knowledge of where members money is being allocated, with outlined reporting mechanisms of expenditures
a. A clear understanding of the Breakdown of Union Funds as allocated in each of the different wage packages/schedules
b. Union Funds: Health & Welfare, Pension, RRSP Fund, Education & Training Fund, Sports Entertainment and Retirees Fund, Promotion Fund, CCO (Construction Council of Ontario) Fund, SUB (Supplementary Unemployment Benefit) Fund, Market Recovery/Stabilization (Stab) Fund/Program, JEPP (Joint Electrical Promotion Plan) Fund; OEITTF (Ontario Electrical Industry Training Trust Fund) Fund - 631A Communications Worker - TDA (Training Delivery Agent), JAC (Joint Apprenticeship Council) & ECAT (Electrical Contractors Association of Toronto) Fund
c. This will be conveyed as per the Principal Agreement Clause 1000 Health & Welfare White Pages for Our Local 353 thru to Clauses 1001 & 1002 where Intent language and a summary language will be put together for the members viewing.
2. Having knowledge of where members hourly wage deductions/earnings of market recovery/stab fund (stabilization) are being allocated to support market growth and maintain market share
3. Having knowledge of where members education funds are being resourced for utilization that is effectively supporting growth; Identifying the utilization of Government Funds received and allocated vs members monies.
4. Health & Welfare and how these funds are resourced through our Benefits Administrators TEIBAS (Toronto Electrical Benefits Administration Services)
5. Trust Administration that is Jointly trusted by the Employers agency GETECA (Greater Toronto Electrical Contractors Association) and our Local Membership
6. Members having knowledge of the CBA (Collective Bargaining Agreement) they are working under as we have a number of them that will be simplified to support memberships involvement; presently the complexities of each agreement hinder members activism within their own union.
